If you block the nose of your baby and are holding their neck, they will pull back or unlatch to restore their breath. If you hold onto their head, you prevent them from being able to use their reflex and they will struggle to breathe and eventually become distressed and need a deep breath once you give them an opportunity to breathe.

Stumbled onto this video while I was looking for something else. I met Dr. Kramer by chance back in the early 80's when he was a very young Doctor. As faith would have it he delivered both of my sons. My second son was premature and had problems which Dr. Kramer saw immediately. Three weeks in ICU and Dr. Kramer never missed a day calling me and my wife, assuring us that Matt would get through this horrible time. He did and every August 1st we remember what this man did for our family and drink a toast to him. He has been my wife's doctor since that time. He is the absolute best, a Fantastic, Caring, Friendly and Super Intelligent Doctor, one we have never forgotten. Thanks Buddy.
